The A3 was bought in May 2018 with around 98.800 km and now has 122.300 km on the clock. So far I did one oil change and gave her some new spark plugs as they apparently haven’t been changed for 6 years. As FSI engines love to destroy ignition coils I also had to change those, 4 new ones at  40€ each. Ouch. But well worth it as it runs a bit smoother now. Besides that nothing serious happened which is quite unusual for an Audi. To the next 20.000 km.

Next month. I plan on doing annual oil changes. I don't know who came up with 2 year/30k km intervals anyways.

And don’t use the longlife 5W 30 crap, use “normal” 5W 40 (still with the right VW specs) .

I did that with the first oil change under my ownership and the oil consumption dropped  a tad bit afterwards

Most European cars have these long intervals. My Peugeot has too. I change it once a year (or at 20.000 km), the official interval is 2 years/30.000 km. I bought it with 167k km, it currently has 370k km and runs fine. I use the cheapest   5W40 I can find from a proper brand.
